Value Synergies Research

Digital technologies are being woven into the very fabric of our cities. Digital information is converging with the physical environment. Collecting the huge amounts of data and binding it together into useful bits of information is transforming how we interact and conduct our daily activities. Pervasive technologies and ubiquitous computing raises new opportunities for human organization. Semantic Web, or Web 3.0, is standardizing data formats on the world wide web to provide a common framework. Programs and applications are seeking and deriving meaning from Big Data for intelligent interaction.

Formal Axiology is a mathematics-based science developed by Dr. Robert S. Hartman that measures the richest value to critical destruction of an individual’s choices and actions. This value-science mimics human thought by including systemic concepts, extrinsic actions and intrinsic value with consideration for emotional emphasis. The Qaaba semantic intelligent agent is interoperable with Formal Axiology. The future internet adapts infrastructure and ontology for semantic interoperability with Formal Axiology. Setting the environment for instant valuation capacity. Filtering, processing, storing, and analyzing data with Formal Axiology logic ranks by richest value to most destructive.

Yet there remains an open challenge. The tragedy of the commons: the economic problem in which every individual tries to reap the greatest benefit from a given resource. As the demand for the resource overwhelms the supply, every individual who consumes an additional unit directly harms others who can no longer enjoy the benefits.

Formal Axiology allows us to consider the value or destruction at an individual level. Used alone this powerful calculative capacity accelerates competitive resource acquisition.

Value synergies research aims to bridge this challenge by developing a calculation and ranking for how one action or result impacts other individuals or groups that aligns with Formal Axiology for seamless integration and broad application capacity within Symantec technology. By integrating human need prioritization and weighting that considers actions and impacts for all stakeholders, formal Axiology can also calculate individual, group and collective value. Synergy is the interaction of two or more agents or forces where the combined effect is greater than the sum of individual efforts. Social synergistic modeling applies synergistic calculations within systemic technology, social structures, organizations and interactions.

A host of new opportunities open when technology can be embedded with Individual, group and societal impact metrics. Traditional centralized or decentralized environments can benefit from the intelligence for automation and decision making. The framework could theoretically also facilitate distributed user coordination for autonomous complex stigmergent organization. Harmonizing cooperation with value synergies.
